Meet the Pilates Queen Redefining Wellness: How This Latina Influencer Is Building Strong Bodies and Brands One Precise Move at a Time

Meet the Pilates Queen Redefining Wellness: How This Latina Influencer Is Building Strong Bodies and Brands One Precise Move at a Time

By Nikki Dobrin , Publication Date: March 25th 2026

Over the past few years, the wellness industry has expanded into a major global economy. However, such rapid growth also drew a crowd of passing fitness trends and influencer-led marketing.

For lots of people looking for real guidance, it’s not always easy to tell who actually knows what they are doing and who’s just chasing the hype.

Angela Yulima Lopez Guarin is part of a new generation of wellness leaders who has the perfect combination of expertise and passion for wellness education. This Colombian Pilates instructor and strategic wellness marketer has built a strong digital community while helping shape how fitness education and brand engagement evolve across Latin America.

Rather than simply promoting workouts, she has developed a Pilates-based therapeutic movement methodology that focuses on neuromuscular control, injury prevention, and long-term functional strength: “When wellness is taught through real experience and backed by movement education and healthy habits, it stops being a product, like something you should buy. Instead, you see it as something that can help improve your life,” she explains.

Angela starts with the core Pilates fundamentals—control, precision, breathing, and awareness—and turns them into programs that are personalized for each person: “I’m 100% focused on improving strength, stability, and body control,” she sharees

While most fitness programs see routines as just completing exercises, Angela’s programs are designed to improve movement: “I don’t simply teach exercises; I created a structured process of movement education and correction that identifies inefficient patterns and replaces them with efficient, lasting ones,” she explains.

She believes her commitment to precision is essential to the discipline, saying: “Every movement requires careful execution and muscular control. That’s why working with a highly qualified professional is so important,” Angela explains.

According to Angela, this emphasis on technique and precision is what sets Pilates apart from trend-driven workouts: “Pilates is powerful because it not only trains the body, it educates posture, control, and injury prevention.”

Angela’s Pilates expertise is backed by formal training. Having trained at Pilates Pro Colombia, Angela is certified in both Reformer and Mat Pilates. Moreover, she is a part of the Pilates Method Alliance, a group of instructors and studios across 40+ countries. Such a network helps her stay up to date with global Pilates standards.

Angela shares how maintaining high technical standards is a core value in her work: “Excellence in movement means prioritizing technique, safety, and quality in every training session.”

Through her practice, the wellness expert identified a gap in standardized training systems that fail to address individual movement patterns.

To fill this void, Angela has developed a personalized Pilates-based therapeutic system that integrates posture correction, injury prevention, and functional movement retraining.

She explains: “I created this Pilates-based recovery method to combine precise movement science with real-life application. This is something you just don’t get in standard Pilates classes," Angela explains.

Her methodology follows a structured system that allows clients to progressively retrain their bodies. “The methodology I developed follows three phases I designed myself: functional assessment to uncover hidden limitations, progressive re-education of movement patterns, and real-world integration so the changes last far beyond the studio,” she says.

The final phase of this approach focuses on long-term application beyond the workout itself. “My Therapeutic recovery method doesn’t end when the session is over.  I wanted this method to go beyond what we do in the studio. That’s why the last phase focuses on helping clients apply their new movement skills in their daily routines," Angela shares.

Her approach reflects her belief that wellness programs need to fit the individual, not the other way around: “I never use a generic approach. Everything I do is tailored to a person’s routine, fitness level, lifestyle, and goals, so that the results are not short-term,” she explains.

She adds that the method she designed reflects this personalized approach. “The core of the method I developed is restoring body alignment and stability while building sustainable movement patterns that people can actually use in their everyday lives,” Angela explains.

She shares that this perspective emerged after observing the limitations of traditional training models: “I designed this approach because I saw that traditional Pilates often stopped at the mat; my method continues the work until the client owns their new movement patterns permanently.”

That same commitment to education carries into her digital presence. On Instagram, this sought-after fitness expert shares instructional demonstrations, movement breakdowns, and mindful training tips.

Because of her informative content, Angela’s page has built its reputation as a trusted resource for the Latin American wellness community. Her followers come from many backgrounds as well, ranging from families trying to build healthier habits to retired adults focused on self-care, to fitness professionals looking to improve their knowledge, and even companies interested in wellness education: “Social media gives me the chance to share Pilates, training, and wellness tips with anyone looking to improve their health. It enables me to connect with a global audience and inspire people to build stronger bodies with better awareness,” she shares.

Now, Angela has over 258,000 followers on @taticaguarin_, making her one of Latin America’s fastest-growing Pilates accounts.

With her expanding online community, Angela has been able to expand her reach in wellness even further. It also naturally led to more industry collaborations and invitations.

In 2024, she was invited to serve as a wellness ambassador at ExpoFitness, one of the biggest fitness events across Latin America. There, she led large-scale Pilates and functional training sessions for thousands of participants as part of the official Wellness Team.

These large-scale sessions reflect the practical application of the movement system she has developed, demonstrating how her methodology can be scaled from individualized therapeutic sessions to large group instruction environments.

Events like these allow her to translate online education into real-world experiences that strengthen wellness communities. As Angela explains: “Through events and wellness programs, I try to create spaces where people not only train but also learn to understand their bodies.”

Her visibility at events like ExpoFitness led to opportunities with top wellness brands. This highly regarded Pilates instructor has also partnered with companies such as Simply USA, Evolution Fitness, Avventus Supplements, and Smart Muscle.

Thanks to these partnerships, Angela can share both her training expertise and experience in wellness marketing to a much larger audience.

In these collaborations, she applies the same methodology she has developed, aligning training systems, movement education, and wellness communication into a cohesive framework that connects fitness instruction with community-based wellness practices.

On top of that, attending international conventions allowed Angela to meet trainers, physiotherapists, movement specialists, and wellness educators from all over the world: “I get to work with professionals who are also passionate about topics on strength, mobility, injury prevention, and overall body health. These partnerships let us improve not just training programs, but also the way we promote wellness,” she shares.

Her rising reputation caught the attention of leaders in global wellness and sports nutrition. Claire Sigmon, co-owner of the international sports nutrition brand Avventus Supplements, first met Angela at the FitWeekend Expo, where she was representing Simply USA.

Even in the fast-paced large international convention, Claire immediately noticed Angela’s professionalism and skill.

She recalls: “Angela has a remarkable ability to combine deep product knowledge with genuine connection. She understands both the science behind supplementation and the strategy behind building a brand, which is a rare combination in this industry,” Claire explains.

Over time, the two continued collaborating and exchanging insights on wellness marketing strategies and product positioning within Latin American markets: “Beyond her technical knowledge, she has a natural charisma that allows her to lead ambassador teams, connect with audiences, and create authentic relationships between brands and communities,” Claire adds.

Another industry professional who has witnessed Angela’s work firsthand is Mark William Cunningham, the International Director at ProSupps, who has more than a decade of experience working across global fitness markets.

Mark first met Angela during the Colombia Fit Expo in 2023: “Right from the start, I saw how committed she is to what she does. She was connecting with distributors, chatting with visitors, and representing the brand with so much energy and expertise,” Mark says.

After that first meeting, Mark continued to work with Angela at several international fitness events. Over the years, he has observed her professionalism in many settings—from leading classes to collaborating with partners across the industry: “She has both passion and an amazing work ethic, which is a rare mix. It’s what makes her so valuable to global health and fitness projects,” Mark shares.

While Angela’s presence at international fitness events shows her expertise as an instructor, her professional work doesn’t stop there—she also built a successful career in wellness marketing.

Angela currently serves as Community and Market Development Coordinator for Simply USA, an international wellness brand. She’s in charge of growing the company across Latin America—Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil. Her goal is to connect people with wellness knowledge, whether through new markets, distributor partnerships, or community programs. As to her approach, Angela prefers education and authentic experiences over traditional advertising.

Angela is also the Director of Wellness Marketing and Pilates Education at Simply Vitamins Inc. She uses her fitness know-how to craft training programs, create content, manage influencer collabs, and represent the brand at international fitness event

What makes Angela unique is her combination of movement education and marketing strategy. While many wellness professionals focus on one or the other, she believes they go hand in hand: “In my marketing work, I partner with wellness brands, events, and fitness projects. I guide them toward trends like Pilates, community building, and meaningful wellness experiences that support brand growth,” she says.

She describes this model as a bridge between communities and brands: “My goal is to connect people and wellness initiatives so movement and healthy living become part of the bigger culture.”

At the core of Angela’s approach is authenticity and human connection. Instead of just promoting products, she focuses on aligning brand messaging with real wellness education and community engagement—the same values she uses in her Pilates teaching: “Many frustrations in marketing happen when expectations aren’t aligned. That’s why it’s important to first understand what a company truly wants. After that, you can create strategies that actually connect their products with what people really need,” she explains.

Angela believes that sharing wellness authentically can completely change how people see brands: “Sharing wellness authentically can totally shift how people see a brand. When it’s based on real experience and education, products feel like helpful tools for your lifestyle—not just things to sell.”

Angela’s passion, influence, and expertise have not gone unnoticed. She’s been nominated twice for Best Micro-Influencer Revelation of the Year and was also recognized at the Instafest Awards, a Latin American program that honors creators with strong audience engagement. These achievements show just how much her work matters—both online and in real-life wellness communities.

Now, she’s taking things even further by launching her own Pilates brand. The project aims to create a complete ecosystem that combines education, specialized equipment, digital learning, and community experiences.

This brand reflects her belief that exercise isn’t just about how someone looks. She emphasizes how it’s more about understanding one’s body, feeling better day to day, and being around people who encourage one’s wellness journey: “What really counts is the precision and quality of your movements, not your appearance,” she adds.

At the end of the day, it’s not fame or social media followers that drive her—it’s the lasting impact she can make: “I want to be remembered as someone who helped people see the value of conscious movement, discipline, and wellness communities,” she shares.

Angela sees wellness differently. For her, it’s not just about Pilates or looking good—it’s about learning, growing, and connecting with others. “Well-being becomes a powerful tool for personal development and community connection when it’s done with knowledge, discipline, and purpose,” she says.

She combines precise teaching, meaningful brand partnerships, and practical wellness tips to create an approach that helps people—and even communities—thrive. Her impact isn’t about awards or followers; it’s with the confidence she helps build, and the long-term changes she inspires: “Real well-being comes from understanding your body and practicing habits that stick,” she explains.

With so many quick fixes out there, Angela keeps it real and believes wellness is a journey, not a shortcut: “True well-being is about habits and understanding your body in a way that lasts.”
