The Chicago School President Michele Nealon Addresses Holiday Blues and Offers Tips for Improving Mental Health During This Holiday Season

CHICAGO, Dec. 20, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the holidays already upon us, it's essential to recognize that for many people, even some that we know and love, this time of year can bring about feelings of stress, anxiety, and the holiday blues. Dr. Michele Nealon, Psy.D., President of The Chicago School, knows that we all experience this time of year differently and offers her expert advice to help improve mental well-being during this festive period.

  4. Schedule “Me” Time: Prioritize self-care by engaging in activities that bring you peace and relaxation. This could include mindfulness exercises, hobbies, or simply taking time for yourself.
  5. Give Back: Helping others can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Consider volunteering or engaging in charitable activities within your community.
  6. Create New Traditions: If the traditional holiday activities contribute to your stress, consider creating new traditions that align more with your values and preferences.
